San Mateo is one of the larger suburbs located on the San Francisco Peninsula. Until recently, San Mateo was home to the only horse racing track on the San Francisco Peninsula, Bay Meadows. The grounds are also home to the San Mateo County Events Center, where the annual county fair isheld. Perhaps the best-known natural area is Coyote Point Park which is home to the Coyote Point Museum, one of the best natural history museums and wildlife centers in California. The San Mateo Performing Arts Center is also a prominent place in town and the largest theatre on the peninsula. With lots of good destinations such as shopping areas and the ever popular Central Park with a beautiful Japanese Tea Garden and a small train on rails for children, San Mateo is the quite ideal place to live.
